By completing specialized courses through Premier Edge Training and Education, you have the ability to stand out from the crowd by earning badges to display on your VSP Find a Doctor Directory listing on vsp.com.

Practices featuring the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) Badge and/or the Premier Edge Training and Education Badge on their listing receive nearly 2X* as many clicks to their appointment scheduler compared to those without a badge.

Premier Edge Training and Education Badge

Exclusive to Platinum- and Gold-level Premier Edge practices, this badge indicates that this location has completed training focused on practice management and elevating the patient experience.

How to receive the badge:

  • Earn a total of 135 points by completing as few as three eLearning courses (point values range from 10 to 60 points). For a complete list of courses eligible for this badge, click here.

American Diabetes Association® (ADA) Badge

Available to all VSP network practices, this badge indicates that a location has completed the Premier Edge Training and Education Diabetes Track and is committed to supporting patients’ overall health, as well as their vision.

Courses are guided and developed by the Premier Edge Training and Education advisory panel and the Clinical Advisory panel at the ADA made up of optometrists and a range of clinical experts.

How to receive the badge:

  • Earn a total of 135 points via a combination of the courses below:
    • Complete the 601N Essential Medical Eye Care eLearning course or webinar (15 points)
    • Complete any of the diabetes education track courses for a total of 120 points. For a full list of courses eligible for this badge, click here.
  • Meet the requirement for retinal imaging equipment at the location.

What to Know

  • Points are accumulated by taking courses of varying point values.
  • Practices will be notified via email upon completion of requirements, and badges will be awarded the following month.
  • Badges will appear on the Find a Doctor Directory on vsp.com
  • After requirements are met, practice locations will retain the badge for one year, after which they will need to requalify.
