We know many VSP network doctors give back to their communities in the U.S. and across the globe. Explore opportunities below to leverage VSP Eyes of Hope and make an even bigger impact.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, VSP Global paused some charitable eye care initiatives to allow doctors to focus on essential care and to protect the health of the communities we work together to serve. See below for more information on the VSP Eyes of Hope programs currently active and keep an eye out for program updates over the next few months.
VSP Eyes of Hope gift certificates are distributed through our national network of charitable partners, including the National Association of School Nurses, American Red Cross, Lions Clubs, and Prevent Blindness. Gift certificates are available for adults and children in need, including those affected by disaster, to ensure they have no-cost access to quality eye care and eyewear through a local VSP network doctor. When you see patients with a gift certificate, you’ll be reimbursed for all services as a Choice network doctor.

VSP Global® eyewear companies donate new frames and sunglasses to support eye doctors, schools of optometry, and optometric organizations who are participating in charitable outreach in the U.S. or abroad. Gently used glasses are also available through January 1, 2022. Request an eyewear donation.
Why are you ending the program to collect and distribute gently used eyewear?
In recent years, there’s been a substantial decrease in requests for donations to support vision care outreach. It’s become more efficient and cost-effective to provide new glasses tailored to the exact prescription for individuals in need, even in remote locations. VSP Eyes of Hope has shifted our focus to support that need.
What should I do with my used glasses that I want to donate?
Check with your local Goodwill, Salvation Army or Lions Club to see if they are accepting used glasses.
Mobile clinics partner with VSP network doctors and charitable organizations across the U.S. at outreach events that provide no-cost eye exams and glasses to people in need and communities affected by disaster.
Mobile clinic services are currently paused. Please check back for program updates.
