Will the COVID-19 pandemic impact my practice’s Premier Program status?

  • At VSP Global, our top priority is the health and safety of providers, customers, partners, and employees. With this in mind, VSP Global extended Premier Program benefits through June 2021. Practices are able to move up in tiers but not down during this time.

How is VSP Global supporting network practices through the pandemic with training and education?

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, VSP Global accelerated efforts to bring all network practices resources with a focus on long-term success.
  • Based on doctor feedback and request, education and training includes: Telemedicine, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Financial Management, Continuing Education (CE), and Patient Engagement and Marketing.

What types of resources are available to support my practice?

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Over 5,000 branded reusable face masks have been made available to practices in the VSP Global Premier Program gold and platinum tiers.
    • 50,000 face shields were distributed free-of-charge to VSP® network practices and healthcare clients.

  • Free education and training via Premier Academy360™
    • VSP network practices continue to have access to webinars, CE courses, podcasts, and more on a variety of topics.
  • VSP Global COVID-19 Patient Care Program
    • In 2020, VSP developed the COVID-19 Patient Care Program, providing one-time cash payments to support doctors and help offset expenses and financial hardships practices incurred due to the pandemic. VSP recognizes and thanks network doctors for the care they’ve provided to their patients and plans to further support and reinvest in this program again in Spring 2021. Eligible practices will receive an email communication from VSP when the application process is open with more details on how to apply for a grant between $500 and $10,000. Grant payments will be calculated based on 2020 claims data. More details will be shared once they are available.
  • National Marketing Campaign to VSP Members
    • Encouraged VSP members to schedule their annual eye exam.
  • Premier Program benefits have been extended
    • All practice locations currently participating in the Premier Program will retain their current level (Silver, Gold, or Platinum) and the associated benefits through June 2021.

How is VSP Global responding to COVID-19? Are any operations changing?

  • Where possible, the vast majority of our US workforce is practicing safe social distancing processes as outlined by the CDC and others, such as working from home and virtual meetings.
  • We have cancelled events involving large groups and are not participating with those being sponsored by others at this time.
  • At this time, all of our labs and distribution centers are fully operational.
