How is VSP Global responding to COVID-19? Are any operations changing?

  • Where possible, the vast majority of our US workforce is practicing safe social distancing processes as outlined by the CDC and others, such as working from home and virtual meetings.
  • We have cancelled events involving large groups and are not participating with those being sponsored by others at this time.
  • At this time, all of our labs and distribution centers are fully operational.

Are Marchon/Altair and VSPOne labs operational? Will we experience any delays?

  • At this time, all of our labs and distribution centers are fully operational.
  • Our sales teams are focused on your success and we stand ready to help in whatever way we can.
  • You will be hearing from our VSP Global companies with more specifics, but please contact your VSP representative if you have immediate needs and concerns.

Should I continue to see VSP patients?

  • Please refer to your local health authority guidelines, the American Optometric Association guidelines as well as those from the Centers for Disease Control around the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Given our current national emergency, your practice may feel the need to reschedule routine patient appointments and address your VSP members’ essential and emergency eye care needs. Please schedule new appointments or reschedule existing patients to new times, as appropriate based on the recommendations of your state/national associations and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

What does this mean for my practice’s Premier Program status?

  • At VSP Global, our top priority is the health and safety of providers, customers, partners, and employees. We understand that achieving or maintaining Premier Program status may be on your mind. In these uncertain times, it’s too early for us to make any immediate changes but we’ll continue to monitor and assess opportunities to provide greater flexibility with your long-term success in mind.
  • CHECK-IN WAIVED: Effective immediately, practices participating in the VSP Global Premier Program will keep their current status and benefits through the end of the year. Practices will be able to move up in tiers but not down during this time.
  • We’ll keep you posted about any additional changes through email and on the VSPproviderhub.com.

How is VSP Global supporting network practices through the pandemic with training and education? 

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, VSP Global is accelerating efforts to bring all network practices these resources to support practices now and in the future with a focus on long-term success. Premier Academy360 resources are currently available to all VSP network locations free of charge. 

During the COVID-19 crisis, what types of materials are available to support my practice? 

  • During COVID-19, educational resources to support practices in managing through the crisis and beyond are being delivered across multiple platforms, including frequent webinars and podcasts.  
  • Based on doctor feedback and request, there are several focus areas for education at this time, including: Reopening, Telemedicine, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Financial Management, Continuing Education (CE), and Patient Engagement and Marketing.
