VSP and Optima Health Plan

VSP^® Vision Care is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2023, it manages routine eye exams and materials benefits for Optima Health Plan of Virginia, including:  

• 250,000 members on the VSP Choice Plan^®; and  
• 300,000 members on the VSP Medicaid Plan.   

These members may self-identify as having vision coverage through either Optima Health Plan or VSP. You can check eligibility and obtain authorizations for these members the same way you do for your other VSP patients and by using their own, unique nine-digit member number on their Optima Health Plan ID card.

Note: When checking patient eligibility, enter the nine-digit member number, do not include the asterisk as shown on the sample ID card.
