Leverage Back-to-School Resources During Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month

Did you know August is National Eye Exam Month AND Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month? It’s the perfect time to prepare your practice for the back-to-school season—including stocking up on eyewear to send students back to school in style and sharing resources to help spread the word and attract more patients to your practice.  

Leverage the Diabetes and Children Social Toolkit 
Based on current trends, it’s estimated the prevalence of diabetes in U.S. adolescents under age 20 will rise to more than 525,000 by 2060.1  With the prevalence of diabetes among children on the rise, it’s important to help educate parents on the risks and myths of the disease. With August being Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month, it’s a good time to do just that, especially as many parents are booking their children’s eye exams heading into the busy school year.    

You can share the Diabetes and Children Social Toolkit graphics on your practice’s social media channels to engage parents and encourage them to schedule eye exams for the whole family.
