The Nominations Are In! The Best Boss Award Goes To…

The influx of “Best Boss” nominations confirmed what we already knew: There are so many ODs who go above and beyond every day, not only for their patients, but for their staff as well. 

It was a difficult decision, but the winner of the 2024 Best Boss award goes to Carrie Palmer, OD, of Family Vision Care in Ogden, UT. 

Her staff shared this video and included comments like, “She goes above and beyond to recognize the staff and make each of us feel appreciated, known, and heard… She cries with us when we are sad and celebrates with us.”

Congratulations, Dr. Palmer! Your practice will receive lunch on us to celebrate. 

A special honorable mention for creativity to Dr. Kenneth Plank of Visual Eyes in Oklahoma, whose staff shared praise like “He is the most caring and loving boss I have ever had…. He motivates me to be a better person…he is the best person I’ve ever met…” and shared this fun video. Congratulations, Dr. Plank—your practice will receive something to help you celebrate National Boss’s Day!
