Let’s Get Real About Instagram Reels

The new tool to help increase engagement and brand awareness for your practice


Do you already have an Instagram account for your practice? If so,  consider trying out one of the newer features, Instagram Reels. Similar to Tik Tok, Reels lets you create and share 15-second videos in a dedicated feed on the Explore page. Since it’s still new to the scene, Instagram Reels has plenty of potential to increase engagement and brand awareness for your practice.  

If you’re stuck on what to post about, we’ve got a few fun (and simple) ideas to get you started: 

  • Behind-the-scenes look. What may seem like the ordinary day-to-day procedures in your practice can be great video content for Reels. Educate your audience about the complex world of optometry by giving a behind-the-scenes look on how your practice is dedicated to delivering quality patient care.  

  • Staff spotlight. One surefire way to engage your current IG followers is by creating authentic content. Use Reels to put a face behind your practice by featuring doctors and staff to build connections and strengthen relationships with your audience.  

  • Feature a new frame collection. Build some excitement for a new collection by featuring it on Reels. Does someone in the office have an eye for fashion? Take it to the next level by pairing frames with outfits to give your patients the full picture.  

Instagram Reels are fast, fun, and jam-packed with nifty effects so don’t be afraid to get creative and experiment! As with all social media platforms, consistency is key – the more you post, the more likely you’ll be able to engage your followers and reach new audiences.
