VSP™ Vision and Prevent Blindness have partnered to create awareness and anticipation of the coming total solar eclipse visible across North America. During this eclipse, the moon will pass in front of the sun, causing the sun to be blocked entirely and creating a period of total darkness for those in the path of “totality”—a small band stretching from southwest to northeast across the continent.

The Great North American Eclipse of April 8, 2024, will be visible in parts of Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The eclipse path will begin in Mexico and pass through Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine before ending in the Canadian province Newfoundland and Labrador.
