Identifying the Premier Program Advantage

| |

As a private practice owner and doctor, providing high-quality eye care is a full-time job—there’s not much time left for building my practice or figuring out how to attract new patients. But as we all know, this is a critical piece of the equation if we want to stay competitive—and it can be done.

As the VSP Global Premier Program celebrates its fifth anniversary, I find myself reflecting on why I truly believe this program is valuable for independent doctors in today’s market. Personally, participating in the Premier Program has helped me increase my practice’s revenue and grow my business, while at the same time helping my patients maximize their benefits. It’s a win for everyone.

Think about this. In the last five years, nearly 32 million patients—15 million of them new—have visited approximately 7,000 participating Premier Program locations and $9.2 billion has been paid to participating doctors through claim payments and Premier Program’s offers. Traffic to my own practice has increased significantly, largely due to increased exposure on VSP’s directory. When you’re a practice that participates in the Premier Program, patients find you more easily, which helps with your patient flow.

Another thing I appreciate about the program is all the exclusive offers available from vendors and distributors—discounts and rebates on everything from eyewear to equipment to office supplies. Plus, I get help with marketing my practice effectively with tools and resources from My Marketing team.

As the Premier Program celebrates this milestone, it continues to evolve with new ways to advantage independent doctors like myself to help us differentiate and compete. As eye see it, if you’re not participating in the program, I encourage you to learn more about how the program can benefit you. If you are participating, make sure you’re maximizing the benefits of the program. I think you’ll find, like I did, that the rewards to both your practice and your patients make it a win for everyone.
