Being the Voice in the Room as a VSP Ambassador 

When we opened our first cold-start practice 11 years ago, VSP was part of our journey from the very beginning. So, when I was invited to serve as a VSP Ambassador last year, it felt like the perfect opportunity to make sure private practice doctors like me continue to have a strong voice in the room. 

For me, the Ambassador role is about connection and representation. I get to bring real concerns, insights, and ideas from fellow ODs in Oregon directly to VSP decision makers. At the same time, I help explain to colleagues how to strengthen and maximize their partnership with VSP—something that has played a meaningful role in the growth of each of my locations. 

As an Ambassador, I help bridge the gap between private practice owners and VSP. When both sides better understand each other’s needs, challenges, and goals, it creates a stronger foundation for everyone. That kind of clarity ultimately supports the continued growth and long-term success of independent optometry. And As Eye See It, the more successful we are within our practices, the more successful we can be as individuals—and the better eye care we can provide.
