Bridging the Gap Between My Peers and VSP

| |

As a private practice optometrist, I’ve always believed that the strength of our profession comes from community—sharing ideas, learning from one another, and working together to create the best possible experience for our patients. That belief is a big part of why I chose to become a VSP Ambassador.

Being a VSP Ambassador gives me the opportunity to work closely with other VSP network doctors in my state to elevate ideas and opportunities that truly matter to private practice. We’re in the exam rooms, in our communities, and on the front lines of patient care every day, so we’re uniquely positioned to offer feedback that helps shape solutions designed for the long-term success of optometry.

One of the most rewarding parts of this role is having a direct channel to share what we’re experiencing in our practices. VSP is constantly evolving its programs to help ensure we can meet the full spectrum of patient needs while continuing to grow our practices. As an Ambassador, I get to contribute to that evolution by offering real world insight on what’s working, what’s challenging, and what opportunities exist to better support private practice doctors.

But the role isn’t just about giving feedback—it’s also about being a resource for peers. I regularly share updates about VSP programs, policies, products, and services to help fellow doctors stay informed and take advantage of the tools available to them. Whether someone has a question about a new policy or wants to better understand how a program can benefit their practice, I’m there to help connect the dots.

For me, being a VSP Ambassador is ultimately about ensuring our profession continues to thrive. Private practice optometry is stronger when we all have access to the right support, the right programs, and the right information. And when VSP grows and evolves alongside us, it helps ensure that patient care—and our profession—remain strong for the long term. As Eye See It, I’m proud to play even a small part in shaping that future.
